How to Commission a Mural

<< New

Commissioning a mural is easy! You may have a definite idea of what you would like, or if you’re unsure I am able help you realise what you may want, together we can help you get a clear idea of what you’re looking for.

I will be happy to arrange a consultation with you, to discuss your requirements. This initial consultation is free of charge and with no obligation.

I am based in Devon so I can travel throughout Devon free of charge, I can also travel to other locations however there will be some traveling expenses depending on the distance. Overseas commissions are also very welcome too, there is more planning involved such as air fares and accomodation to consider, but dont let that put you off, Don't hesitate to contact me for further information and lets get talking about making your painting project happen.

About the Paints I Use
I work with low odour, quick drying acrylics and emulsion paints, so it is possible for me to paint your mural without too much disruption, although a little space for me to work is always a good thing.

Terms and Conditions

Every mural painted is tailored to meet the requirements of each individual customer, and will therefore be priced accordingly. The cost of each mural will depend on its size, details, materials and length of time required to complete. I can give a general idea of pricing once an initial consultation has taken place, any additions to the original design such as more details or characters/objects will incur extra costs.

For larger murals scaffold maybe required for me to gain access to the working area, I can recommend a scaffold company if needed, or you may want to provide your own scaffolder. Please note that using scaffolding will increase the overall cost of the project.

Any walls that need to be patched, prepped, repaired or painted first are at a separate rate, or you may prefer to use your own decorator.

Depending on the scale of the mural, a deposit may be required to cover materials, or scaffolding hire (if required). If the commission is large, and expected to continue over several weeks, I may require payment in instalments, as the mural progresses. This will be discussed at the initial planning stage. Payment is usually made in stages for larger murals, one 40% payment on the acceptance and approval of the contract, 30% half way stage payment and 30% on completion, other payment arrangements can be made by agreement.

Upon completion, I will invoice you for payment in full (or any remaining installments). Customers are given 14 days from the date of invoice to make payment. I accept cheques (with a valid guarantee card), or cash as methods of payment.
